Fixing Your Castle.

Fixing Your Castle.

It was almost midnight my phone rang, as I answered the call "Hey, I know it's late but can you please come over, I need you! she said in a brittle voice. She hung up the call before I could ask her anything. I rushed out as my mind was going through hundreds of speculations behind her weeping voice. Finally, I reached her home which was just three blocks away from mine. Well she opened the front door even before I could ring the doorbell. “Is it okay if we sit on the balcony”. She said. We went out onto the balcony at the end of her bedroom past walls and walls of mesmerizing paintings painted by her. Her balcony had one bean bag and a bench pushed against the wall which I sat on as she grabbed the bean bag. She was strange, I mean I found her strange. she was biting her nails her eyes were numb, as she was tucking her chin length curls behind her ears flashing her red cheeks I just couldn’t stop staring at her as always, as always she was looking beautiful in her solid white t-shirt and printed pajamas. Finally, after five prolonged minutes of silence I plucked up the courage and asked “What happened?” “Is everything alright?”. She looked at me with that grieved look on her face “He doesn’t love me anymore” she said. From the last few weeks we are doing nothing but fighting, he doesn’t answer my calls, replies me hours later, I don’t know what is going on. She sighed. You see this is the hardest part where the unrequited lover inside you wants to get out desperately but for now all she needs is her best friend. “Hey don’t cry everything will be alright we will figure something out”, it’s just he might be busy working, I said as I consoled her. “What if he might have found somebody else there? somebody better somebody more beautiful than me? Ha, she replied as she burst into tears. “No, nobody can love and then just abandoned you like this, I know past months have been hard for you because of this distance you have between you two but you need to stop thinking like this, I explained. She got up from the bean bag and sat next to me as she grabbed my arm close to her chest I could feel her heart beating at a higher pace contradicting mine, resting her head on my shoulder she slowly whispered “I love him a lot, I don’t want to lose him”. You see this is where the unrequited lover inside me wanted to get out desperately hold her  in my arms, kiss her and tell her how much I loved her and that I would never do this to her ever! but all this could bring is ruins , so I rubbed her arm kissed forehead to show that how much I care for her and told her that I would never let anything happen to her ever! Because for now all she needed was her best friend. “Thank you for being there” she said in a low pitched voice as she tightened her grip around my arm. “You will always find me by your side fixing your castle no matter what” I said. While my heart knew mine is already collapsed into pieces.
